About Brian

Brian White, experienced singing teacher width=

Brian White is an experienced singing teacher and vocal coach who has been teaching in his own studio in Ainslie for more than 20 years. He enjoys teaching and feels privileged to have taught so many students from a wide range of backgrounds, ages and experience.

Brian also teaches voice production and public speaking.

For a number of years Brian was the convenor of the singing competitions of the Australian National Eisteddfod and the Australian National Aria competitions. He was also president of the Australian National Eisteddfod, and was named a Life Member.

Brian was also the first president of the Canberra Academy of Music and Related Arts, as well as a committee member of Art Song Canberra.


  • Brian is a bass-baritone. He trained with Patricia Whitbread, late of the Australian Opera, who herself trained in Germany.
  • Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts with honours and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Melbourne, and a Diploma in Singing (AMusA) from the Australian Music Examinations Board.

  • Brian has attended many masterclasses and workshops conducted by ANATS, the Voice Department of the Canberra School of Music, the Australian National Eisteddfod and Art Song Canberra.
